Through the Emirati Embassy in Buenos Aires, an initiative was launched that aims to bring entrepreneurs linked to local science and technology to the Asian country.
In an event that was attended by the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Buenos Aires, Saeed Abdullah Al Qemzi, the Minister of Science and Technology of Argentina, Daniel Filmus, the president of the technology-based missionary company, FANIoT and promoter of the Emirates Tech & Invest initiative, Martín Bueno, and the head of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in Argentina, Martín Ridley, the presentation of Emirates Tech & Invest took place yesterday.
The event brought together around twenty technologists and entrepreneurs from Argentina associated with science, technology and the generation of knowledge, as well as representatives of the public sector, scientific organizations and public and private universities.
At the headquarters of the Emirati embassy in Buenos Aires, they gathered representatives of companies and startups that today are among the most innovative in Argentina in areas such as Health, Agrobiotechnology, Aerospace Development, Defense, Artificial Intelligence, Construction, Sustainable Mobility, Smart Cities and Energy .

From the Embassy they raised the importance of the event, through which the Emirati government seeks to capture part of the innovation generated in Argentina and the region “to discover a new world of opportunities and commercial alliances with the industry of the technological and scientific ecosystem of the Asian country .
“ In recent years, the UAE has attracted massive foreign investments in the technology sector. In 2022, direct investment inflows amounted to $22,737 million, placing us 16th globally and first in the Middle East and North Africa, according to the United Nations Trade Conference report. and Development (UNCTAD) on global investment 2023 ,” said Emirati Ambassador Saeed Abdullah Al Qemzi, during the event.
The United Arab Emirates official maintained that “artificial intelligence is considered a fundamental focus of growth and a priority in the UAE government’s policy. This was reflected in the State’s establishment of a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence in 2017. It was also accompanied by continued efforts to create a world-leading regulatory framework, including projects in the field of information technology and intelligence. artificial”.
According to him, “the country offers technology companies seeking to establish their projects in the UAE and many startup incubators financing, mentoring, advice and the opportunity to interact with industry experts, in addition to providing the necessary residence visas, offices equipped to work and marketing, and advertising platforms to reach potential clients and investors.”
Knowledge economy
The UAE seeks to establish a competitive knowledge economy, and has created a world-leading regulatory framework for IT/AI companies, as well as providing infrastructure to build the best possible technology investment ecosystem for startups.
For this reason, yesterday, everyone from local technology SMEs to representatives of larger companies met. “Artificial intelligence is the next great revolution of our times; Our goal is to reach one of the most advanced countries in this sense,” they explained from the Embassy.
The Minister of Science and Technology of the Nation, Daniel Filmus, was present at the event. The head of the scientific portfolio highlighted the visit of Argentine officials to the Emirates within the framework of Expo2020 Dubai and the signing of agreements in the technological field. He, in turn, pointed out that “the Knowledge Economy contributed more than $7.7 billion last year,” and proposed “strengthening this type of exports to the United Arab Emirates.” Filmus also spoke about the potential for cooperation in the field of defense industries with the UAE.
For his part, Martín Bueno, promoter of the Emirates Tech & Invest initiative together with the Dubai International Chamber of Commerce and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Argentina, commented on the matter: “The objective of the initiative not only pursues the search for Technology-based companies in Argentina, in order to generate commercial and development opportunities in the UAE, but also the creation of work and collaboration bridges with the technological ecosystem of both countries.
