UAE and Argentina Explore Strategic Trade and Investment Partnerships to Boost Economic Growth

BUENOS AIRES, 2nd July, 2026 – Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, orchestrated pivotal discussions with senior officials from both government and private sectors in Argentina to bolster trade and investment relations between the two nations. The engagements focused extensively on enhancing the private sector’s role in forming high-quality partnerships that would underpin sustainable economic growth.

These meetings were a part of ‘UAE Trade Days’, marking an official visit by Al Zeyoudi with a prominent Emirati economic delegation, comprising government officials, business leaders, and representatives from Emirati companies involved in strategic sectors.

Al Zeyoudi engaged in several meetings with senior Argentine officials, notably with Pablo Quirno Magrane, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, along with other key figures from the business community. Discussions aimed at broadening cooperation in technology, renewable energy, logistics, and trade, punctuating the robust strategic relationship between the UAE and Argentina.

The visit also featured a business roundtable that convened investors and business leaders from both the UAE and Argentina. This assembly explored trade and investment opportunities, seeking to cultivate stronger private sector partnerships to increase investment flows and advance sustainable economic development.

Al Zeyoudi emphasized the importance of Argentina as a primary trading partner for the UAE in Latin America. He remarked: “Our bilateral relations have witnessed remarkable growth in recent years, reflected in the expansion of trade volumes and the broadening of cooperation to encompass agriculture, food security, energy, mining, science, technology, and infrastructure.”

He continued, stressing that the visit underscores both countries’ dedication to strengthening their economic partnership. “Our discussions with Argentina reflect a renewed and shared vision for economic growth and mutual benefit. By building on the strengths of both countries, we can open new horizons for trade and innovation that serve our economies,” Al Zeyoudi reported.

The broadened dialogue identified new investment avenues, strengthening private sector exchanges, with the UAE reaffirming its commitment to supporting the private sector as a pivotal partner in economic advancement.

Non-oil trade between the UAE and Argentina climbed to US$767.5 million in 2025, marking a growth of 42.6 percent over the previous year. This underscores the vast potential for expanding trade ties, particularly in sectors such as food security, agriculture, renewable energy, and advanced technology.

This Argentine visit is a facet of the UAE’s continued endeavor to cement its global economic presence, following the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPA) initiative. This program, launched in September 2021, has spawned agreements across continents, promoting sustainable trade and investment.

The UAE’s efforts to position itself as a global hub for trade and investment come as part of its commitment to free, open, and rules-based trade. The visit to Argentina is anticipated to lay a robust foundation for deeper economic partnerships, fostering new avenues for shared growth and prosperity.
