Peru Inaugurates Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Marking a New Era in UAE-Peru Relations

Peru officially opened its embassy in Abu Dhabi yesterday, a significant milestone that highlights the deepening partnership between the Republic of Peru and the United Arab Emirates. The inauguration ceremony was led by Elmer Schialer Salcedo, Peru’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and attended by Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, UAE Minister of State, alongside Ambassador Alberto Alejandro Farje Orna, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and representatives of the Peruvian community in the UAE.

Early Diplomatic Engagements with UAE Authorities

Ahead of the embassy’s inauguration, Minister Salcedo held a meeting with senior UAE government authorities. He was received by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Abu Dhabi. During their discussions, both sides explored avenues to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation across several sectors, including economic, trade, and investment, in support of the developmental priorities of both countries. Sheikh Abdullah welcomed Salcedo’s visit and expressed eagerness to deepen the distinguished partnership between Peru and the UAE.
