ABU DHABI, January, 2025 – Bernardo Arévalo, President of the Republic of Guatemala, has conferred the Grand Officer of the Order of Antonio José de Irisarri upon Ahmed Hatem Al Menhali, former Non-Resident Ambassador of the UAE to Guatemala. The award recognizes his exceptional efforts and significant contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations during his tenure.
The medal was officially presented to Ambassador Al Menhali by Jorge Archila, Ambassador of Guatemala to the UAE, during a ceremony at the Guatemalan embassy in Abu Dhabi.
In his remarks, Ambassador Archila congratulated Al Menhali on receiving one of Guatemala’s highest honors, which acknowledges international figures who have played pivotal roles in fostering relations with the country. He praised Ambassador Al Menhali for his instrumental efforts in advancing UAE-Guatemala cooperation and identifying new opportunities to deepen their partnership.
Ambassador Al Menhali expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Arévalo for the prestigious recognition, highlighting the award as a testament to the strong ties between the UAE and Guatemala. He also extended his appreciation to the Guatemalan government for its collaboration and support throughout his diplomatic mission.
Significantly, Ambassador Al Menhali is the first non-resident ambassador to Guatemala to receive the Grand Officer of the Order of Antonio José de Irisarri.
