Ecuador Inaugurates Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Strengthening Bilateral Ties
In a significant step forward for UAE–Ecuador relations, President Daniel Noboa of the Republic of Ecuador inaugurated his country’s new embassy in Abu Dhabi on 7th December, 2025. The milestone event was attended by high-level dignitaries, including Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy (Minister of State for International Cooperation), Omar bin Sultan Al Olama (Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications), and a host of officials from both nations as well as ambassadors from various Arab and foreign states.
The ceremony underscores the depth of bilateral ties between the UAE and Ecuador, reflecting an era of enhanced engagement and cooperation across multiple fields. According to President Daniel Noboa, he expressed “pride in the strong friendship between the two nations, built on trust, mutual respect and a shared commitment to achieving prosperity and progress for their peoples.”
Gabriela Sommerfeld, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, remarked that the embassy’s opening “reflects Ecuador’s firm commitment to deepening cooperation with the UAE,” and expressed her hopes for “further advancement in the distinguished bilateral relations.”
Among those attending were Ibrahim Salem Al Alawi (Non-Resident Ambassador of the UAE to Ecuador), Felipe Ribadeneira Molestina (Ambassador of Ecuador to the UAE), as well as other diplomats and officials, marking the event as a new chapter in the partnership between the two nations.
