Quito, Ecuador, 2nd March, 2026 – In a distinguished ceremony at Carondelet Palace in Quito, Daniel Noboa, President of the Republic of Ecuador, has presented the National Order of Merit in the Grade of Grand Collar to H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. This honor represents Ecuador’s highest civilian award, reserved for heads of state, government leaders, and senior officials who have made exceptional contributions to international partnerships.
The decoration was conferred in recognition of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed’s role in deepening bonds of friendship and advancing cooperation between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ecuador. As part of the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed reaffirmed the ongoing commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation aligned with the shared vision of both nations’ leadership, under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Daniel Noboa, President of Ecuador.
The President of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, emphasized that the award “acknowledges His Highness’ contributions to the growing strategic partnership between Ecuador and the UAE, particularly in priority sectors central to the development agenda,” underlining the mutual dedication to strengthen economic, trade, and investment cooperation. This reflects the determination of both countries to further advance their bilateral relations and explore wider horizons of collaboration.
The National Order of Merit in the Grade of Grand Collar recognizes outstanding contributions in reinforcing friendship, partnership, and strategic collaboration with Ecuador, especially in fields advancing shared interests and goals.
