Ajman Chamber and Peru Discuss Enhancing Economic Cooperation

Salem Al Suwaidi, Director-General of Ajman Chamber, recently hosted Alberto Alejandro Farje Orna, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to the UAE, along with his delegation, to explore avenues for economic cooperation, expand intra-trade, and promote mutual investments between Ajman and Peru.

The discussions, held at the Ajman Chamber headquarters and also attended by Mohamed Ali Al Janahi (Executive Director of the Member Support Services Sector) and Fatima Yaqoob (Head of the Investment Attraction Section), focused on identifying collaboration opportunities in key sectors. Both sides highlighted the existing capabilities in Ajman and Peru.

During the meeting, Salem Al Suwaidi reaffirmed the chamber’s dedication to “building bridges of cooperation with countries across the globe”. He also noted the rapid development of relationships between the UAE and Peru.

Key sectors discussed for future cooperation included food industries, agricultural products, and textiles, with the aim of opening new investment partnerships and boosting trade exchange. Attendees emphasized the significance of diversifying cooperation channels to enhance bilateral trade by leveraging market diversity and emerging opportunities. They also emphasized exchanging vital information and statistical data, as well as organizing targeted economic forums with the participation of business leaders and investors from both nations.

Ajman Chamber presented a comprehensive overview of its major investment opportunities across important sectors such as industry, tourism, education, healthcare, and construction. The Chamber also showcased Ajman’s ongoing efforts to cultivate a flexible business environment to ease business operations.

The Ambassador of Peru stressed there are “wide-ranging opportunities for cooperation between Peru and Ajman”, and commended the economic strengths of both parties while confirming his country’s dedication to furthering trade and industrial relations.

At the end of the meeting, Al Suwaidi and the Ambassador of Peru exchanged shields and souvenirs as a gesture of goodwill, and both sides agreed on the importance of exchanging trade delegations in the near future.
