LIMA, 31st July, 2026 – In a significant gesture of international cooperation and diplomatic outreach, Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), represented UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the inauguration of the new President of the Republic of Peru, Keiko Sofia Fujimori Higuchi. The ceremony symbolizes a continuation of friendly relations and a shared commitment to international collaboration.
During the ceremony, Her Excellency Al Hashimy presented an official invitation from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for President Fujimori to visit the United Arab Emirates. Such a visit would mark the strengthening ties between the two nations, celebrating the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations, formalized on 17 June 2026.
Both leaders exchanged warm greetings and well-wishes from prominent UAE officials, including Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. President Fujimori echoed these sentiments, expressing her admiration and best wishes for the UAE.
The bilateral ties, steadily developing over four decades, envision an even broader scope of cooperation.
