Strengthening Bilateral Ties: The Dominican Republic and Saudi Arabia Explore New Avenues for Cooperation
In a significant step toward strengthening international relations and economic cooperation, the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrein, and Djibouti recently facilitated a high-level meeting at the Asharqia Chamber of Commerce in Dammam, the capital of Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. The meeting brought together Ambassador Andy Rodríguez Durán and Mr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Faraj, Chairman of the Board of the Asharqia Chamber, along with several key executives from one of the Kingdom’s most prominent business institutions.
During the session, Ambassador Rodríguez Durán presented the Dominican Republic as a strategic investment and trade hub connecting the Caribbean and the Americas. He highlighted the country’s competitive advantages, pointing to the robust free trade zone regime, an extensive network of trade agreements—including DR-CAFTA and the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with the European Union—which together grant direct access to major markets in North America, Latin America, and Europe.
