In a landmark moment for UAE-Paraguay relations, Her Excellency Dr. Al Saghira Wabran Alahbabi officially presented her credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Paraguay. The ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Asunción, where H.E. Alahbabi was warmly received by His Excellency Santiago Peña, President of Paraguay.
This high-level diplomatic gesture reaffirms the UAE’s commitment to deepening ties with Latin America, and Paraguay in particular, across multiple fields including trade, investment, sustainable development, culture, and innovation.
During the official reception, H.E. Alahbabi conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the UAE’s leadership — His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court — to President Peña and the people of Paraguay.
President Peña responded with a message of mutual respect and appreciation, extending his greetings to the UAE leadership and expressing his hopes for continued progress, prosperity, and collaboration between the two nations.
H.E. Peña welcomed Ambassador Alahbabi with optimism and emphasized Paraguay’s full support for her mission, highlighting the country’s readiness to facilitate initiatives that strengthen bilateral cooperation.
