Dubai, February 19, 2025 – Chile has officially opened its pavilion at the 30th edition of Gulfood , one of the Middle East’s most prestigious food and beverage trade fairs. Taking place from February 17 to 21, 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the Chile Pavilion marks a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to expand its global trade footprint, particularly in the fast-growing Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and with Its Largest Delegation in History.
A total of 28 companies supported by ProChile will exhibit their healthy, safe, and sustainable food products, while 20 more companies will attend as visitors to what is considered the largest food and beverage platform in the Middle East and Africa.
Joining the Chilean delegation is Chilehalal, a certified food entity meeting religious standards, which was accredited in November 2024 by the UAE’s Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology to issue Halal certificates. This milestone marks Chile’s most diverse and robust delegation to Gulfood, aiming to diversify its range of goods and services not only in the UAE but across the Middle East.
Chile will play a key role, presenting a comprehensive portfolio of products, including walnuts, almonds, dried plums, hazelnuts, raisins, and oats. Additionally, meat sector companies and the Faenacar trade association will participate to expand Chile’s meat exports to the Middle East.

Insights from Ignacio Fernández, Director General of ProChile: Chile’s Vision for Global Trade at Gulfood 2025
During the opening ceremony of the Chile Pavilion at Gulfood 2025, Latin&gulf had the opportunity to speaking with Ignacio Fernández, Director General of ProChile. Attending Gulfood for the first time—coinciding with the fair’s 30th anniversary—Fernández expressed his enthusiasm for Chile’s largest-ever participation in the event.
Look, for us, it’s a pleasure to be here at Gulfood. In fact, this is the first time I’ve attended this fair, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. It’s really special for us because this is the edition of the fair where we’ve brought the most Chilean companies. We’ve never brought so many before.
We have 28 companies in our pavilion. Five Chilean companies have their own pavilions, and there are 15 companies visiting the fair. So, we have a delegation of about 50 companies and around 100 people here right now, which is very powerful for us. As you know, last year Chile had a historic export record, surpassing 100 billion dollars, which is very important for Chile.
A big part of that record is related to mining, but the entire agro-food industry is very relevant as well. We exported more than 25 billion dollars in agro-food products, and that makes us very happy. Gulfood is very important for us, not only for what it represents in this region but also because it projects us to the world. It’s interesting to see that as our exports become more complex and diverse, of course, supported by the agro-food sector, we are diversifying and complicating these possibilities. We want to keep promoting not only the more traditional products but also all the services related to them.
All the services related to mining, the forestry industry, agro-industry, aquaculture, and of course, the food sector. In this regard, we are organizing a summit at the end of the year here in the UAE, which will showcase Chile—showing not only our food industry but also all developments related to it. Everything related to Smart Farming, Agrotech, and Climatic.
There are many Chilean developments, Chilean solutions, that have been created, from the good use of water resources to packaging, and of course, everything related to seeds and crops. There is a lot of added value and a large offer of scalable services and products that we want to show, and this is work we are doing with the team here in the UAE. We hope this edition will be a success.
