Strengthening Defence Cooperation Through Shared Capability Development
In a significant move to enhance defence cooperation, EDGE, the UAE Ministry of Defence, the Brazilian Army (Exército Brasileiro), and IMBEL – Indústria de Material Bélico do Brasil have announced the establishment of a framework for cooperation focused on land force modernisation, technology transfer, and industrial development. This strategic partnership is designed to support Brazil’s defence modernisation efforts and foster the growth of its domestic industrial capabilities.
The newly formed collaborative framework marks a fundamental milestone for both the defence industrial base and international cooperation. By bringing together the armed forces and advanced technologies of Brazil and the United Arab Emirates, the agreement aims to stimulate industrial development and technological innovation that can enhance national sovereignty and expand the global stature of both countries.
This collaboration is rooted in a commitment to not only exchanging technological expertise but also in supporting the development of domestic industries involved in defence production. Such efforts will help Brazil move further along the path of self-reliance in critical defence technologies, while simultaneously strengthening bilateral relations between the UAE and Brazil.
The strategic synergy created by this agreement is expected to result in highly relevant projects that leverage the unique strengths of each partner. By uniting their resources and technological know-how, both nations are positioning themselves as leaders in defence modernisation and as proactive contributors to global peace and security.
This cooperation represents a meaningful step forward in UAE–Brazil relations, opening new avenues for shared progress and closer ties in the realm of defence and industrial innovation.
