Strengthening UAE-Panama Relations: High-Level Meeting Focuses on Cooperation and Regional Stability
On April 1, 2026, a significant diplomatic meeting took place as Mohamed Abdullah Al Shamsi, the non-resident Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Panama, met with Javier Martínez-Acha, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama. During this important encounter, both parties conducted an in-depth review of the evolving bond of friendship and cooperation between their countries.
The discussions focused on ways to develop bilateral relations across various sectors, with particular emphasis on economic and investment opportunities. Both leaders analyzed future steps to further strengthen their partnership and ensure the continuity of previous joint initiatives, all directed toward achieving shared interests.
Current regional and international developments were also on the agenda. Of particular concern was the recent Iranian terrorist attack targeting the United Arab Emirates and several friendly nations in the region. In this context, Javier Martínez-Acha expressed Panama’s solidarity with the UAE, describing the attack as a threat to regional stability and commending the UAE’s role in bolstering regional security and peace.
In response, Ambassador Al Shamsi acknowledged and appreciated Panama’s supportive stance, reaffirming the UAE’s ongoing commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and expanding avenues of cooperation.
