Superfruit: Pablo Morandé

With a strong focus on integration, quality, and market-driven solutions, Pablo Morandé plays a key role in shaping Superfruit’s global strategy. Backed by a fully controlled production chain—from its own orchards to processing plants and export operations—Superfruit has positioned itself as a reliable supplier of prunes and walnuts to demanding international markets. In this interview, Pablo Morandé shares insights into how the company’s scale, value-added approach, and commitment to excellence allow Superfruit to consistently deliver premium products and build long-term partnerships worldwide.

Can you introduce Superfruit and its export-focused approach?

Superfruit: Quality Rooted in Our Own Fields

Back in 1986, Agrosuper took a bold step into the fruit industry with the creation of Superfruit—a company dedicated to producing, processing, and exporting premium-quality fruit. Since then, Superfruit has met the demands of the world’s most discerning markets, bringing the taste and excellence of Chile to tables across the globe.

Today, Superfruit represents full integration. Every product comes from our own fields, ensuring complete traceability, consistent quality, and trust at every stage of the process. Our plantations include 1,000 hectares of plums, 700 hectares of walnuts, 380 hectares of fresh fruit—such as peaches, nectarines, kiwis, Japanese plums, and cherries (with more than 100 hectares dedicated to cherries)—and 500 hectares of wine grapes. As part of our continuous innovation, we have also incorporated the production of dehydrated cherries.

Our fields are located across the fertile regions of Rancagua, Lolol, Peralillo, and Melipilla, where we carefully manage every detail from root to harvest.

Our mission is clear: to deliver comprehensive solutions to our clients, ensuring timely supply and products that meet the highest international standards. After decades of dedication, Superfruit has become one of Chile’s leading agricultural companies and one of the largest exporters of dried fruit in the Southern Hemisphere. At Superfruit, every plum, walnut, and cherry reflects a story of passion, expertise, and excellence.

What differentiates your dehydrated plums and cherries?

The difference lies in our fully integrated model and total control from start to finish. At Superfruit, we do not simply process fruit—we grow it ourselves. Every cherry and plum comes from our own fields, cultivated under strict quality standards in Chile’s most fertile regions. This integration allows us to guarantee consistent quality and complete traceability, as each product can be tracked back to its exact orchard, ensuring transparency and trust for our clients.

How do walnut kernels fit into your product strategy?

Walnuts are a key pillar of our product strategy. They allow us to offer a comprehensive portfolio of dried fruits to global markets, ensuring year-round supply and meeting the growing demand for healthy, premium snacks. Because we produce and process our own walnuts, we guarantee full traceability and consistent quality, reinforcing our integrated model and strengthening our position as a reliable partner for international buyers.

What quality controls define your operations?

Our quality control teams bring decades of experience and deep product knowledge to every stage of the process. Working under the highest international standards, they ensure that our products meet the requirements of any global market. From cultivation to final packaging, each step is closely monitored to guarantee consistency, food safety, and excellence.

What type of partners are you looking for in the Middle East?

We seek strong partners who share our vision of building long-term business relationships. Trust and teamwork are at the core of how we operate, and we aim to establish lasting connections with our clients. Our focus is on delivering top-quality products to the most demanding markets, and we value partners who prioritize reliability, transparency, and mutual growth.
