Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC), held a meeting with Raúl Luis Latorre Martínez, President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Republic of Paraguay, on the sidelines of the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva, Switzerland. The session was also attended by several FNC members.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the strong ties of friendship between the UAE and Paraguay. They expressed a shared commitment from their leaderships to expand and deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields, aiming to foster prosperity and mutual benefit for both countries and their peoples.
Discussions highlighted the significance of enhancing joint parliamentary action to support sustainable development. Both delegations recognised the growing role of parliamentary diplomacy as a crucial tool for building bridges of cooperation between nations, particularly in vital and developmental sectors.
Additionally, they emphasized activating the role of parliamentary friendship groups between the UAE FNC and the Paraguayan Chamber of Deputies. This would help facilitate the exchange of information and legislative expertise, coordinate on issues of mutual interest, and enable the alignment of positions on matters raised at regional and international parliamentary platforms.
