The Saudi Pro League’s remaining 14 football clubs are set to go private.

The Saudi Pro League’s remaining 14 football clubs are set to go private. This move comes after the sale of four top teams sparked a billion-dollar spending spree on foreign stars.

Six more clubs from the 18-strong league will be available for privatisation next month, followed by the other eight “at a later stage” according to a statement from the sports ministry.

The privatisation initiative aims to enhance commercial revenue growth and potentially elevate the competitiveness of Saudi football clubs on the global stage.
