Security is one of the strongest areas of synergy between El Salvador and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). For the UAE, security stands as one of its greatest national assets, having contributed to building a country recognized for its stability, trust, innovation, and quality of life.
For El Salvador, under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele, security has also marked the beginning of a new chapter. Not long ago, El Salvador was internationally known for facing one of the highest levels of violence in the world. Today, however, it is recognized as the safest country in the Western Hemisphere. This transformation is an experience the nation is proud to share, built through difficult decisions, clear priorities, and strong institutional coordination.
In a recent post, Gerardo Perez highlights the country’s commitment to building long-lasting partnerships with justice and security institutions in the UAE, notably including the Ministry of Justice. “In our meeting with His Excellency Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice of the United Arab Emirates, we discussed opportunities to exchange technical expertise and explore how technology can help make our justice systems more modern, efficient, and accessible to citizens,” notes Gerardo Perez.
This shared vision is further strengthened by ongoing collaborations with organizations like Dubai Police. Recent initiatives include the participation of a Salvadoran police delegation in the UAE SWAT Challenge in Dubai, as well as a meeting between the Vice President of El Salvador, Félix Ulloa, and His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.
Through these ongoing dialogues, the two nations have explored the possibility of establishing Smart Police Stations in El Salvador, bringing innovative security services closer to the citizens. For El Salvador, security is seen as key to enabling development, investment, tourism, institutional confidence, and peace of mind for families.
El Salvador looks forward to continuing to strengthen its cooperation with strategic partners such as the UAE, guided by a shared commitment to security, innovation, and prosperity.
