Pioneering International Cooperation: Bringing the Caribbean to Dubai at WGS2026
Across thousands of miles, from Trinidad to Dubai, a determined effort has bridged continents and cultures—an achievement made possible by the collective resolve and vision of a real dream team. Noemi Espinoza Madrid, leading this cross-continental initiative, recently celebrated the culmination of months of strategic coordination, as one of her key ambitions for the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) has become reality: organizing the first International Cooperation Conference to be held beyond the Greater Caribbean region, set to take place at #WGS2026.
In a recent reflection, Noemi Espinoza Madrid remarked on this accomplishment:
“Across thousands of miles—from Trinidad to Dubai—my dream team put in the work, stayed aligned, and pushed through the coordination. That dedication on both sides paid off, transforming one of my visions for Association of Caribbean States into the first International Cooperation Conference to be held beyond the Greater Caribbean at the #WGS2026.”
This vision was not realized alone. The project brought together a diverse and talented team including Lisa Douglas-Paul, Samirah Baksh, Elisabet Torres Izarra, Nayeli Yoval Segura, Sarah Hosein, Rayne Affonso, Jake Victor Salloum, Joshua Green Miller, Jimena Cuevas-Portilla, and José Miguel Rovira. Their unwavering dedication, resilience, and cross-border collaboration were instrumental in bringing the Caribbean’s voice onto a global platform.
By facilitating this first-of-its-kind event for the ACS at #WGS2026, the dream team has established a new benchmark for international cooperation, showcasing how vision, teamwork, and relentless pursuit can bridge oceans and cultures.
With excitement building ahead of the conference in Dubai, the highlight remains the team’s exceptional alignment and determination—qualities that will surely inspire similar endeavors in the future.
