Ecuador Strengthens Strategic Ties with DP World in the UAE
In a significant move to boost international trade and logistics collaboration, the Ambassador of Ecuador to the United Arab Emirates, Felipe Rivadeneira Molestina, met with H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World, during a high-level meeting held in the United Arab Emirates. The talks underscored the commitment of both nations to deepening economic and logistical partnerships.
At the core of the discussions was the strategic role of DP World’s operations at the Port of Posorja. The state-of-the-art port has emerged as a key logistics hub on Ecuador’s coast, significantly enhancing the country’s foreign trade capabilities. Both leaders emphasized how the port’s operation is “a cornerstone in Ecuador’s economic growth,” serving not only local industries but also regional markets.
The meeting also served as a platform for exploring long-term cooperation and investment opportunities in Ecuador’s infrastructure and logistics sectors. Areas of mutual interest include improving connectivity, expanding port capacity, and deploying advanced technologies to support global trade integration.
In a show of continued bilateral engagement, Ambassador Rivadeneira Molestina concluded his visit with an on-site tour of the Port of Posorja. He observed firsthand the port’s cutting-edge infrastructure, including its automated systems, robust security standards, and eco-efficient operational model. These features have positioned Posorja as a model port for sustainable and high-performance logistics.
The strengthening of ties between Ecuador and DP World signals a broader strategic framework to make Ecuador not just a gateway for regional commerce but a competitive, globally connected trade hub.
