RAS AL KHAIMAH, 19th September, 2025 — In a remarkable celebration of unity and friendship, H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, graced a special reception commemorating the 204th anniversary of independence for Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Guatemala.

The reception, held at the InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah, was hosted by the Ambassadors of the three Central American nations — Francisco J. Chacón Hernández of Costa Rica, Gerardo Pérez Figueroa of El Salvador, and Jorge Archila of Guatemala — and welcomed a distinguished audience of senior UAE officials, diplomats, and business leaders.

Among the guests of honor were ambassadors from across Latin America, including representatives of Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Paraguay, reflecting the strong and growing ties between the UAE and the entire Latin American region.

In addition to the diplomatic corps, leading companies from Latin America participated in the event, underscoring the importance of trade, investment, and economic cooperation as a pillar of the relationship between the two regions.

In his address, Sheikh Saud expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the governments and peoples of Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Guatemala, underscoring the significance of this historic occasion. He emphasized that such celebrations are a testament to shared values of independence, progress, and cooperation.

Sheikh Saud reaffirmed Ras Al Khaimah’s commitment to strengthening ties with Central America and the wider Latin American region, pledging to expand economic collaboration, support sustainable development initiatives, and explore new avenues for partnership.

An important milestone of the evening was the signing of a landmark MoU between the Dubai–Costa Rica Business Council and the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, opening a new chapter of trade and investment opportunities that will strengthen ties between Latin America and the UAE.

The ambassadors expressed their gratitude for the warm reception and commended the UAE’s leadership for its vision in fostering stronger ties with Latin America. They praised Ras Al Khaimah’s remarkable achievements in economic, cultural, and urban development, noting the Emirate’s role as a bridge for international cooperation.

This significant gathering not only marked an important milestone for the three nations celebrating their independence but also served as a platform to deepen dialogue and create new opportunities between Latin America and the UAE.
