In a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations, the United Arab Emirates and Colombia have engaged in discussions aimed at expanding their partnership in government work and development. The UAE’s Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi, recently met with the Minister of Information Technologies and Communications of Colombia, Mauricio Lizcano, to explore collaborative opportunities.
The high-level meeting, held in the UAE, highlighted the shared commitment of both nations to enhance government performance, digital transformation, and public service innovation. Minister Ohoud Al Roumi emphasized the UAE’s dedication to building sustainable, forward-thinking government practices and expressed optimism about the potential for cooperation with Colombia.
Minister Mauricio Lizcano shared insights into Colombia’s ongoing efforts in digital governance and public sector modernization. He acknowledged the UAE’s achievements in these areas and expressed a keen interest in learning from the UAE’s experiences to implement similar initiatives in Colombia.
