Peru Rises in the Gulf: Over 30 Peruvian Leaders Join Forces Through Dubai’s New Business Council

Peru Rises in the Gulf: Over 30 Peruvian Leaders Join Forces Through Dubai’s New Business Council

The announcement was made in the presence of H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, during the inaugural general assembly held at the Chamber’s headquarters—signaling a new chapter of high-level engagement between the two markets.

Also participating in this historic moment was H.E. Alberto Alejandro Farje Orna, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to the UAE, whose presence underscored the importance of this strategic initiative at the highest diplomatic level.

This milestone would not have been possible without the visionary leadership of Liliana Velásquez, whose dedication and strategic insight played a pivotal role in uniting the Peruvian business community in the UAE. Under her guidance, the Peruvian Business Council was successfully established—bringing together over 30 Peruvian professionals who are actively leading businesses from Dubai across a wide range of industries.

Joining Liliana in this founding effort are a group of distinguished business leaders who now form part of the Council’s foundational board: Paulo Galdos, Rolen Guzman, Javier de la Flor, Miriam Gurth, Paola Rodriguez, Karlo Pacheco, and Yuriko Leon. Together, this diverse and experienced team represents the new face of Peruvian enterprise in the Gulf and sets a strong foundation for future bilateral success.

The creation of the Peruvian Business Council not only strengthens the growing trade relationship—non-oil trade between Dubai and Peru surged past AED 8.3 billion in 2024, marking a remarkable 91% increase year-over-year—but also positions Peru as a key player in Dubai’s vibrant and competitive international business scene.

With several Peruvian companies already active within the Dubai Chamber network as of Q1 2025, the Council’s formation amplifies the voice of Peruvian entrepreneurs in the Gulf and reflects the confidence in Peru’s market potential.

As part of the Chamber’s growing family of 61 country-specific Business Councils, the Peruvian Business Council is set to become a vital platform for collaboration, innovation, and joint ventures—proving that Peruvian talent and enterprise are ready to thrive on the global stage.
