The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has bolstered its presence in the Middle East by opening a new office in the UAE. This move comes as the world champions are also set to establish a similar presence in Saudi Arabia in the near future.
Leandro Petersen, the AFA’s Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer, along with Pablo Diaz, Head of International Relations, were present at the grand opening of the Dubai office.
Strategically located, the new office will serve as a hub for the Argentine Football Association to foster key partnerships and enhance its visibility both locally and across the region.
Petersen expressed his excitement, saying: “The launch of our Middle East office marks a significant milestone for us. It provides a platform to strengthen relationships and elevate our current initiatives. Following our World Cup victory in Qatar, this region holds great importance for the Argentine Football Association and the entire country. We are excited to establish a base from which we can build meaningful long-term relationships with both fans and businesses.”
He further added, “The Middle East has become one of the most vital global markets, and our presence in Dubai positions us perfectly to seize new opportunities as we continue to grow on the international stage.”
Earlier this year, the AFA announced a partnership with DUNE | 23, a UAE-based marketing and communications agency specializing in the sports and entertainment sectors.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Friday at the new DUNE | 23 offices in Dubai, with managing partners Lloyd McMillan and Jamie Hosie joining AFA representatives to celebrate the opening.
Hosie remarked: “We are honored to collaborate with the Argentine Football Association in strengthening its regional presence. Together, we aim to host dynamic events, create engaging digital content, and unlock new commercial opportunities, ensuring that the Argentine Football Association remains a leading force in football across the Middle East.”
