Qatar Joins Venezuela’s Emergency Efforts After Devastating Earthquakes
The government of Qatar has formally joined efforts to provide assistance and support in Venezuela following the devastating earthquakes that struck the country this past Wednesday, June 24.
Delcy Rodríguez, the interim President of Venezuela, confirmed the news through her official Telegram channel, where she expressed her gratitude towards the Middle Eastern nation for their dispatch of supplies and specialized personnel.
“¡Bienvenido Qatar! Gracias por sumarse a los esfuerzos de respuesta con ayuda humanitaria y equipos de rescatistas, para apoyar a las familias que hoy lo necesitan,” declared the interim leader.
This international support arrives at a critical time for the nation after it experienced two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude.
The seismic activities caused severe structural damage and significant impacts to various communities, immediately triggering national emergency protocols.
Qatari rescue teams, esteemed for their expertise in collapsed structures and crisis management, will swiftly integrate with local security and civil protection teams. Their primary objective is to expedite search and rescue operations and humanitarian aid distribution in the areas hardest hit by the tremors.
