Latin American Leaders Highlight Strategic Opportunities Amid Global Economic Transformations
Leaders from Latin America are emphasizing that ongoing global economic transformations—including the restructuring of global supply chains and the acceleration of digital transformation—are opening new avenues for countries across the continent to strengthen their role in international markets. According to the heads of the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Paraguay, capitalizing on these opportunities demands investment in human capital, infrastructure modernization, and the adoption of flexible legislative frameworks that foster innovation and entrepreneurship.
The remarks came during a panel titled “Latin America’s Next Chapter: What Comes Next?” at the World Governments Summit 2026, attended by Luis Abinader (President of the Dominican Republic), Daniel Noboa (President of Ecuador), and Santiago Peña (President of Paraguay). The leaders outlined a shared vision for the continent, describing Latin America as being at a historic turning point that necessitates bold and inclusive development policies.
