Peruvian Business Council UAE Hosts First “Latina Women Leaders” Gathering in Dubai: Fashion, Networking, and Women’s Health Awareness
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Peruvian Business Council UAE hosted the inaugural edition of “Mujeres Latinas Líderes” (Latina Women Leaders), a high-level gathering that brought together Latin American businesswomen, executives, and professionals based in Dubai for an event centered on strategic networking, professional visibility, and meaningful conversations about leadership, resilience, and women’s health.
Held on October 28 at Temperley London Boutique in Fashion Avenue – Dubai Mall, the event was supported by two key partners: Temperley London, the iconic British fashion house, and GMC Clinics, a leading healthcare institution in the UAE.
Empowering Latin Women in the Middle East
“Mujeres Latinas Líderes” was created as a space by and for women from Latin America who are building careers, launching ventures, investing, and leading teams across the Middle East. Participants from Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and other countries took part in a program structured around three key pillars: inspiration, business connection, and wellness.
A panel of six Latin American leaders shared personal testimonies about overcoming professional, emotional, and personal challenges to thrive in Dubai’s highly competitive environment. Each story highlighted the strength of Latin women when purpose, discipline, and a global vision come together.
The panel, titled “Women Who Transform Through Adversity,” explored topics such as leadership in demanding business environments, vulnerability as a tool for authentic positioning, transforming personal challenges into drivers of change, and turning ideas into social impact. It was organized by Liliana Velasquez, President of the Peruvian Business Council UAE, and moderated by Gisella Carrillo, a finance and investment entrepreneur.
Health and Empowerment
Beyond business discussions, the event included a specialized medical session led by Dr. Walid Azkoul from GMC Clinics, focused on the importance of early detection of breast cancer. The talk addressed self-examination, regular check-ups, risk factors, and preventive care protocols.
As part of the session, a raffle for a complimentary breast health screening—courtesy of GMC Clinics—reinforced the message that true empowerment also involves access to preventive healthcare and reliable medical education.
Building Networks and Opportunities
After the main program, attendees joined a networking session over coffee and official photographs, exchanging professional contacts and exploring collaboration opportunities. The goal was clear: to foster real connections among Latin women building their personal brands, companies, and legacies in the UAE.
“This is not just a social event—it marks the beginning of a permanent platform where Latin women in Dubai can stop operating in isolation and start collaborating through a credible, business-driven network,” stated the organization.
