Born from the educational mission of Tu Clase, a pioneering Latin American platform supporting teachers, UmmIA was created to help educators embrace the advantages of artificial intelligence in their daily work. Its purpose is simple yet transformative: to help teachers save time, enhance creativity, and improve learning outcomes—all while preserving the human connection that defines great education.
Led by Dely Núñez, UmmIA brings together technology and pedagogy to create an intelligent assistant that supports teachers in class planning, evaluation, feedback, communication, and professional development. As the UAE accelerates its educational innovation agenda, UmmIA emerges as a powerful ally in shaping the classroom of the future—personalized, efficient, and culturally aligned.
What inspired the creation of UmmIA to support teachers and education systems?
UmmIA was born as a continuation of Tu Clase’s mission—to improve learning outcomes by providing teachers with ongoing support so they can transform their teaching practices and make them more meaningful, relevant, and profound.
We decided to integrate artificial intelligence to extend this mission. UmmIA is designed to accompany teachers in their daily tasks, helping them plan lessons, create classroom materials, evaluate and provide feedback, communicate with students and parents, and foster their own professional development.
Our goal is to make AI a practical companion for teachers, not a replacement—enhancing both their effectiveness and well-being.
How does your platform help educators save time and improve learning outcomes?
From our experience working with teachers across Latin America, we’ve seen that a large part of their workload is administrative and bureaucratic, leaving less time for creative teaching.
UmmIA empowers educators by automating repetitive tasks and helping them design richer, more personalized learning experiences for their students. The result is both better classroom outcomes and improved quality of life for teachers.
In pilot programs using UmmIA, teachers reported an average one-third reduction in time spent on lesson planning and administrative duties, while also being able to propose more engaging, high-quality resources for their students.
Why do you believe this technology is particularly relevant for the UAE, a country investing heavily in educational innovation?
UmmIA is deeply aligned with the UAE’s vision of placing advanced technology at the service of education. The platform makes the power of AI accessible, practical, and meaningful for teachers in their daily work.
Moreover, UmmIA can align its results with national policies, cultural norms, and educational frameworks, including concepts such as National Identity, ensuring that all learning materials and activities are culturally relevant and consistent with the UAE’s educational objectives.
Can UmmIA be localized for teachers and students in the Gulf?
Absolutely. UmmIA is designed for localization and adaptation. This includes language customization, alignment with local curricula and learning objectives, and the use of territory-specific pedagogical practices.
Even the reference knowledge base used by UmmIA to generate responses can be localized to reflect national contexts.
In fact, we already have teachers in Abu Dhabi using our platform as part of an ongoing pilot program, and the feedback so far has been very encouraging.
What kind of partnerships are you seeking—schools, ministries, or EdTech investors?
UmmIA operates at any scale—from individual teachers subscribing to the platform to schools, educational networks, or national education systems.
We’re now entering a phase of international expansion, so we are open to partnerships with schools, ministries, and EdTech investors who share our vision of empowering educators through technology.
Our mission is to ensure that every teacher, no matter where they are, can have AI as an ally—making education not just more efficient, but more human.
