President Abinader Strengthens Dominican-Qatari Ties in Landmark Visit to Doha.

Doha, Qatar – Dominican President Luis Abinader embarked on a dynamic visit to Qatar, engaging in high-level meetings with political leaders and business executives as part of his participation in the Doha Forum.

First Day Highlights

President Abinader kicked off his agenda by attending the opening ceremony of the Doha Forum, presided over by Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The event gathered global leaders to discuss pressing challenges and foster innovative solutions.

Among the day’s key moments, the president inaugurated a bust of Dominican national hero Juan Pablo Duarte at the Dominican Embassy in Doha. He also held several strategic meetings, including:

  • Badr Mohammed Al Meer, CEO of Qatar Airways, at the Sheraton Hotel.
  • Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister, who invited the president to a high-level lunch panel titled “Middle East Security in a Time of Increasing Multipolarity.”
  • Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Thani, CEO of IRTH Capital, to discuss private investment opportunities.
  • H.E. Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater, Qatar’s Minister of Education, to explore collaboration in educational initiatives.

Upcoming Agenda

Continuing his visit, President Abinader will meet with senior Qatari officials and industry leaders on Sunday. These include discussions with:

  • Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry.
  • H.E. Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, Minister of Tourism.
  • H.E. Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Public Health.
  • H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, Minister of Transport.
  • Business leaders from Katara Hospitality, Qatar Investment Authority, and Power International Holding.

He will also participate in the panel “Prospects for Cooperation in a Fragmented World” at the Sheraton Hotel.

Delegation and Vision

President Abinader is accompanied by a focused delegation, including key ministers and the executive director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro. The visit aims to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties, attract foreign investment, and create new opportunities for the Dominican Republic.

This strategic tour underscores the Dominican government’s commitment to building partnerships that drive innovation, trade, and job creation.
