From November 2nd to 10th, an exciting chapter in Latin American Fashion Designers in the heart of the Middle East, where a delegation of innovative Latin American designers showcased their creative talents in the United Arab Emirates. Lead by Juliana Cabrejo Porras and organized by the Cámara de Comercio Árabe Colombiana in collaboration with the UAE-based Latinoamérica Business Center, and the Embassy of Colombia en UAE, this inaugural trade mission brought together some of the region’s most promising designers, aiming to forge meaningful connections and open doors in the UAE’s dynamic fashion market.
This pioneering event, was strategically partner with Manly Week, an influential fashion event led by Sebastian F. and Liliana Arias Salcedo. The mission was further bolstered by the expertise of the FAD Institute of Luxury Fashion & Style, serving as the mission’s luxury fashion partner in the UAE. Together, these organizations orchestrated a cross-continental exchange that celebrated Latin America’s rich cultural heritage, merging it with the UAE’s luxury-driven fashion scene.
The trade mission showcased a selection of designers from Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador, each bringing a unique perspective and cultural identity to their work. Over the course of the week, the delegation engaged in workshops, networking sessions, and exclusive presentations that attracted UAE stakeholders and fashion enthusiasts alike. The highlight was the Latin American Fashion Connector event on November 5th in Dubai, which saw an impressive turnout of more than 60 distinguished guests from both government and private sectors. The event was honored with the presence of Ambassador Luis Miguel Merlano Hoyos and the dedicated team from the Embassy of Colombia in the UAE, who played a vital role in bringing the vision to life.
