In a ceremonial moment underscoring the growing ties between the UAE and Guatemala, H.E. Saif Abdulla Alshamisi, Assistant Undersecretary for Protocol Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, formally received a copy of the credentials of H.E. Jorge Rafael Ruiz, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to the UAE.

The meeting was marked by a warm exchange, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to fostering strong diplomatic and economic relations with Guatemala. H.E. Alshamisi extended his well-wishes to Ambassador Ruiz, expressing confidence in the ambassador’s ability to enhance Guatemala’s presence in the UAE. He reiterated the UAE’s dedication to expanding collaboration across diverse sectors, including trade, culture, and technology.

In response, Ambassador Ruiz conveyed his appreciation for the UAE’s welcoming spirit and acknowledged the nation’s influential role on the regional and global stages. He highlighted the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, as a guiding force in establishing the UAE as a respected and progressive country with significant contributions to peace, innovation, and economic growth.

The exchange of credentials between H.E. Alshamisi and Ambassador Ruiz marks a promising chapter for UAE-Guatemala relations. The Ambassador expressed his enthusiasm for working together on joint initiatives that will benefit both nations and foster greater understanding and cooperation.

This diplomatic step forward reflects the UAE’s broader commitment to strengthening ties with Latin American countries, advancing mutual interests, and fostering cultural exchange. The new partnership signals potential growth opportunities for both countries in areas such as trade, tourism, and investment.
