Bogotá, Colombia –The Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá, leading by Ovidio Claros Polanco hosted a pivotal event titled “Access the United Arab Emirates Market: Dubai the Gateway to Entry.” This conference aimed to highlight the burgeoning commercial opportunities and economic relations between Dubai and Colombia.
The event provided a platform for participating companies to explore the potential of the UAE market for the internationalization of their products and services.
A significant milestone of the conference was the signing of an agreement between Colombia and the Arab countries. This agreement marks a crucial step towards enhancing economic ties with high-income and rapidly growing markets, presenting numerous opportunities for Colombia.
Once the internal processes are completed and the agreement comes into effect, 85% of Colombian products, including coffee, fruits, flowers, beef, dairy, cocoa, and footwear, will enter these markets tariff-free.
The event was graced by the presence of Mohamed Alshamsi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Colombia, and Ahmed Bin Sulayem , CEO and President of DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre). Their participation underscored the importance of this agreement in fostering stronger economic relations between the two regions.
