Strategic Meeting Explores AI and Digital Innovation Opportunities Between Dubai and Costa Rica
A recent high-level meeting brought together key figures from the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) and the Dubai–Costa Rica Business Council to explore growing opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI), digital innovation, and new investment pathways. Hosted at DMCC’s headquarters in #UptownDubai, the meeting included prominent participants such as Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC; Khalid Sharaf, Senior Business Development Director at DMCC; Carlos A. Robles, Secretary General of the Dubai–Costa Rica Business Council; and Daniel Hernando, Director of the Costa Rican Trade and Investment Office in the UAE. Also present was H.E. Francisco J. Chacón Hernández, Ambassador of Costa Rica to the UAE.
During the discussions, both sides highlighted the vast potential for collaboration in sectors such as AI, fintech, gaming, and wider digital innovation. Special emphasis was placed on connecting Costa Rican family businesses and investors with the DMCC Wealth Hub and Dubai’s expanding family office and private capital ecosystem, opening new channels for bilateral investments and knowledge exchange.
Speaking on the growing momentum, Carlos A. Robles stated: “We are looking forward to building on this momentum, creating new pathways for Costa Rican family businesses and investors through Dubai.”
The Dubai Costa Rica Business Council reaffirmed its commitment to continued collaboration with DMCC, the Embassy of Costa Rica, and PROCOMER (Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promoter), aiming to unlock new business and investment opportunities across both markets. This strategic vision aligns with Dubai’s broader ambitions to be a global hub for innovation-led growth and Costa Rica’s increasing interest in international partnerships.
The Council extended gratitude to Ahmed Bin Sulayem and the wider DMCC team for their hospitality and ongoing support in fostering stronger commercial and technological links between the UAE and Costa Rica.
