Colombia Shares Strong 2025 Results and Positive Outlook at PROCOLOMBIA Media Meeting
PROCOLOMBIA held its first media gathering of the year, unveiling the 2025 year-end figures and highlighting optimistic perspectives for the country in tourism, exports, and foreign investment.
According to Carmen Caballero Villa, President of PROCOLOMBIA, the results demonstrate the dynamic performance and robust growth trajectory the country maintains in the international arena. Here are some key highlights shared during the event:
-
Tourism: Between January and September 2025, Colombia generated over USD 8.3 billion in foreign exchange from tourism—an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This impressive growth highlights the increasing appeal of Colombia as a travel destination and the nation’s efforts to promote sustainable and diverse tourism offerings.
-
Exports: Colombian exports of goods surpassed USD 50 billion in 2025, largely driven by the non-mining energy sector. The emphasis on diversifying exports is cementing Colombia’s strategic position in global trade, reducing dependency on traditional sectors and opening up opportunities for innovative industries.
-
Investment: Throughout 2025, 170 foreign investment projects were confirmed, with the potential to generate more than 48,000 jobs. This influx of projects indicates a high level of investor confidence and reflects Colombia’s commitment to improving its business climate and fostering attractive investment opportunities.
“In PROCOLOMBIA, we continue to promote the results of our management and to work on consolidating Colombia as a strategic partner in investment, tourism, and exports,” said Carmen Caballero Villa.
These achievements signal Colombia’s ongoing transformation as a competitive, appealing hub for sustainable tourism, innovative exports, and investment opportunities on the world stage. PROCOLOMBIA remains dedicated to supporting these sectors and highlighting the country’s potential as a key partner globally.
