Within the framework of the Innovation Summit Chile–Dubai 2025, a high-level meeting was held at Emirates Towers, bringing together H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, with representatives from Chile’s innovation and technology ecosystem.
The Chilean delegation included H.E. Patricio Díaz Broughton, Ambassador of Chile to the United Arab Emirates; Ignacio Fernández, General Director of ProChile; Sharif Chacoff, Trade Commissioner of ProChile UAE; and Pablo Zamora, Executive President of Fundación Chile.
The purpose of the meeting was to establish a formal channel of collaboration between Chile and the UAE in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), and to explore opportunities for joint initiatives that promote the development and internationalization of Chile’s technology-based ecosystem in the Middle East.
During the meeting, Ambassador Díaz opened the session with an overview of Chile’s national vision, highlighting the country’s commitment to ethical innovation, education, and applied research. Following this introduction, Ignacio Fernández ,executive director of prochile outlining opportunities for cooperation in R&D, talent exchange, and open innovation programs, together with Pablo Zamora, Executive president of Fundacion Chile.
H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama shared insights into the UAE’s strategic roadmap for AI adoption and the nation’s efforts to position itself as a global hub for digital transformation, research, and technology leadership. Both sides emphasized the importance of building bridges between the UAE and Chile in science, technology, and innovation, recognizing the potential for long-term collaboration.
This encounter represents a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral relations in advanced technologies and reflects the shared vision of both nations to foster sustainable growth and innovation-driven economies.
