UAE and Argentina Strengthen Bilateral Ties with High-Level Meeting in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, 4th February 2025  – In an atmosphere of great cordiality and strengthened ties, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Argentine Republic, Gerardo Werthein, held a meeting in Abu Dhabi with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in key sectors.

During the meeting, the ministers agreed to advance the deepening of the investment treaty, aiming to create a more solid and predictable framework for the development of strategic projects. Additionally, efforts will be directed towards mechanisms that facilitate the access of goods and products between both nations, optimizing entry conditions for Argentine exports into the Emirates and Emirati products into the Argentine market.

As part of this diplomatic engagement, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a written message from the President of Argentina, Javier Milei. The letter, delivered to Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan by Minister Werthein, addressed the strong bilateral ties and the importance of continued cooperation between the two nations.

The meeting was attended by key UAE officials, including Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Minister of Investment; Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; and Saeed Abdullah Al Qamzi, UAE Ambassador to Argentina. Their presence underscored the UAE’s dedication to fostering economic and diplomatic collaboration with Argentina.

This high-level dialogue marks a significant step in reinforcing the partnership between the UAE and Argentina, paving the way for increased trade, investment, and long-term cooperation between both countries.
