As Principal CEO of Grupo Seedsem S.A., what strategies have you implemented to drive growth and innovation within the company?
We prioritize investments in research and development (R&D) to deliver innovative seed varieties and agricultural solutions. Our focus is on seeds with low water demand and high yield, ensuring the quality of the fruits. Collaborating with IFVC Novi Sad, a world leader in agricultural genetics, we aim to improve seed genetics to withstand high temperatures and water stress.
What are some of the biggest challenges you face in the agricultural industry, particularly in the Latin American market?
Climate change and infrastructure limitations are major challenges. Adapting to extreme weather patterns and water scarcity is constant. We address these through projects like the Restoration of degraded land in the Peruvian Amazon, aimed at climate mitigation. We also seek solutions with local authorities in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru to improve logistics for market access.
