Dubai, UAE — October 17, 2025.The Innovation Summit Chile–Dubai 2025 has successfully concluded after an inspiring week of collaboration, technology, and forward-looking partnerships between Chile and the United Arab Emirates.
Held alongside Expand North Star Dubai, the world’s largest startup and innovation exhibition, this historic mission marked Chile’s strongest-ever presence in the Gulf’s innovation ecosystem. Organized by ProChile, the summit brought together 12 pioneering Chilean companies — Ancestral Tech (UltraCropCare®), ChucaoTech, InsightPlay AI, Isolcork, LAB ICT, MedibleGo, OK to Shop, UmmIA, Symbiosis Biotek, SSINDEX, Valuelist, and Work Mining Technology — showcasing Chile’s leadership in AI, sustainability, biotechnology, agri-tech, and digital transformation.
Spotlight on Chile: Innovation and Sustainability at the Forefront of Expand North Star Dubai 2025
One of the summit’s major milestones was the conference “Spotlight on Chile: Innovation and Sustainability at the Forefront of Expand North Star Dubai 2025.”
The Spotlight on Chile conference featured distinguished voices from both Chile and the UAE, who shared their perspectives on innovation, sustainability, and cross-regional collaboration. Ignacio Fernández, General Director of ProChile, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing Chile’s strategic vision to become a global innovation partner. The session was moderated by Sharif Chacoff, Trade Commissioner of Chile in the UAE, who guided the discussion on emerging opportunities between both markets.
The panel brought together Pablo Zamora, Executive President of Fundación Chile; Mario Terraza, CEO of Work Mining Technology; and Maurice Tanas, Representative of Dubai Chambers Digital. Together, they explored how technology, digital ecosystems, and sustainable practices can drive inclusive economic growth and long-term cooperation between Chile and the UAE.
The session attracted a strong audience of entrepreneurs, investors, and government leaders — reflecting the deepening interest in Chile’s technological potential and the mutual desire to expand bilateral partnerships.
Networking Chile: Connecting Innovation and Opportunity at Expand North Star Dubai 2025
Complementing the official program, the Chilean delegation hosted a high-level evening reception titled “Networking Chile: Connecting Innovation and Opportunity.”
Hosted by H.E. Patricio Díaz Broughton, Ambassador of Chile to the UAE, and Ignacio Fernández, General Director of ProChile, the event provided a vibrant platform for dialogue and partnership.
The gathering celebrated the synergy between Chile’s innovation-driven companies and the UAE’s rapidly growing technology and startup ecosystem, highlighting a shared commitment to collaboration, sustainability, and forward-thinking entrepreneurship.
A Week of Connections and Discovery
Throughout the summit, the Chilean delegation — led by Ignacio Fernández, Director General of ProChile; Pablo Zamora, Executive President of Fundación Chile; Sharif Chacoff, Trade Commissioner of ProChile UAE; — engaged in a series of meetings and institutional visits that deepened cooperation between both nations:
- Official Opening of the Chile Pavilion at Expand North Star, and visited by H.H. Sheikh Mansoor Al Maktoum, recognizing Chile’s contribution to innovation and sustainability.
- Participation in GITEX Global 2025, where Chilean startups connected with global investors and technology partners.
- Meeting with H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, marking a milestone in collaboration on advanced technologies and AI-driven growth.
- Visit to the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) to explore opportunities in R&D and innovation ecosystems.
- Exploratory visits to Dubai Future Foundation & Future Labs, AstroLabs, M42 HealthTech, and the Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah Free Zones, aimed at understanding business incorporation, innovation hubs, and investment opportunities in the UAE.
ChucaoTech Wins 2nd Place at the Supernova Challenge – GITEX Global, Dubai
ChucaoTech, a Chilean technology company specializing in advanced environmental and digital monitoring solutions, achieved 2nd place at the prestigious Supernova Challenge during Expand North Star and GITEX Global, the world’s largest technology and startup exhibition.
This year’s competition brought together more than 1,700 startups from across the globe, representing the most innovative technologies and business models in fields such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, fintech, and digital transformation.
Represented by its co-founder Tomás Bravo Hepp, ChucaoTech captured the attention of judges and investors with its cutting-edge solutions and impact-driven approach, earning recognition on the global stage as one of the top emerging companies of the event.
Ancestral Tech (UltraCropCare®) was shortlisted in the Global Supernova Challenge 2025, standing out for its innovative agri-tech solutions that promote sustainable and high-efficiency crop management.
