What inspired you to create unique networking events in the UAE?
I wanted to introduce ambassadors, consuls general, and business leaders to lesser-known aspects of the UAE, such as Hatta, through experiences that go beyond traditional networking. For example, I organized a visit to the Hatta Honeybee Garden, owned by HH Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Bin Al Saqr Al-Qasimi, which was an enriching experience. Another event I organized, called ‘The Unity Event,’ took place in the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood in Dubai, where we brought together 200 people, including highnesses and business leaders, for an authentic Arabian experience. The theme was black and white, with an emphasis on traditional Emirati food, showcasing local culture in a truly immersive way. These events are designed to foster deeper connections through shared, memorable experiences rather than just formal meetings.
How do you blend business with leisure in your events?
I believe that business and leisure can complement each other, so my team and I organize events like paddle sports tournaments. These gatherings allow participants to connect on a personal level, breaking down formal barriers. For instance, I once expanded a paddle game into an event with 50 participants, including ambassadors and business leaders. This informal setting created a relaxed environment where people could bond, leading to more meaningful and successful business relationships.
Can you tell us more about your strategy for helping businesses enter the UAE market?
I believe that business is all about creativity and strategy. We offer a service where we help startups and businesses test the waters before fully committing. This involves organizing events to gauge market interest and ensuring that businesses make informed decisions before investing. It’s all about building trust and creating personalized experiences that foster genuine connections.
What is the “dating before marriage” concept in business that you mentioned?
Instead of immediately setting up a business with licenses and offices, we encourage companies to first enter a short-term partnership with us. This allows them to explore the market and build relationships before making a long-term commitment. We offer a 3-month service where we act as real partners, helping the business test the waters. If it’s successful, we can then move to a 12-month service where we fully integrate and support the business as it establishes itself in the UAE market. This approach ensures that the business environment is right before making significant investments.
How do you ensure that the businesses you work with are a good fit for the UAE market?
We begin with an initial consultation to discuss the business’s goals and assess whether it’s the right time for them to enter the market. If needed, we organize events to test the market and gather feedback from potential partners. During these events, attendees also have the opportunity to take photos with key UAE personalities, which can be posted on social media, significantly enhancing personal branding. This approach allows us to make informed decisions and avoid premature commitments
Can you explain the importance of relationships in doing business in UAE?
In UAE, relationships are everything. It’s not just about what you know, but who you know. Building trust and friendship is key, and it’s common here to spend the majority of a meeting discussing life, passions, and shared interests, reserving the last few minutes for business matters. This approach fosters genuine connections and creates a comfortable atmosphere for doing business. We help businesses navigate this landscape by leveraging our network and introducing them to key decision-makers, which can significantly reduce the time, effort, and money needed to establish a presence in the market.
How do you customize your services for different types of businesses?
We tailor our services to each client’s needs. For instance, if a company is unsure about entering the market, we offer a phased approach where we test the market before making any long-term commitments. We also provide full partnership options for businesses ready to invest and grow in the UAE.
What role do creative events play in your business strategy?
Creative events are central to our strategy. They provide a platform for businesses to connect with potential partners in a relaxed, informal setting. Whether it’s a paddle tournament or an art and music event, these experiences help build trust and foster strong business relationships.
How do you ensure that your events are effective in promoting business relationships?
We focus on creating experiences that are enjoyable and engaging. For example, during a paddle tournament, participants are not just playing a sport—they’re bonding and building relationships. By the time the event is over, they’ve made meaningful connections that can lead to future business opportunities.
How do you see the future of business in the UAE, especially for startups?
The future is bright, but it’s essential to approach the market strategically. Startups need to build strong relationships and understand the unique dynamics of the UAE. By offering tailored support and leveraging our network, we help startups navigate the complexities of the market and position themselves for success.
